Welcome to Colorado’s Voice!

This will be a combination post/podcast. As I write the post, it will become show notes and the framework by which I record the podcast – and not ramble too much. Ya, right.

My name is Scott James.

  • I’m a Weld County Commissioner.
  • I’m a 41-year radio broadcast veteran.
  • I am a community leader. A natural born communicator. A consenus builder and a collaborator at heart.
  • So Colorado’s Voice is my hobby. And my passion. And something that is needed in an otherwise noisy world.

We need common sense and we need conversations.

We need the normies and we need the middle. Because it is the extremes that are driving us toward socialism. We need to understand the proper role of government and we need to understand the grand role of God.

My pastor and friend, Jonathan Wiggins, has it right. Not because he opens with a video clip from me, but because he understands the foundations of this nation are rooted in the Abrahamic Covenant.

At a day in the near future, I’ll pick this message apart line by line and make notes for you to ponder. Better yet, I’ll just have Jonathan on a podcast and we’ll discuss it until your ears bleed. The message is so important. PJW nails it at 30:53. If you can’t listen to all 45-minutes – and you will be better for it if you invest the time – listen for 12 minutes beginning right here…

I love my friend and pastor so much. He just gets it and I hope you get this vitally important point, too. If we live our lives according to God’s law – if we fear God, per se, then our government will be good. America’s government is a direct reflection of her people – government sits downstream of culture. Every problem in society can be fixed not by government, but by God. Our problems are not one of too little government, our problem is one of too little God.

The The ancestors of the founders who initially settled this land were fleeing religious persecution. I believe in the 1st Amendment – congress shall pass no law pertaining to religion. You should not be forced to worship in any given way, if at all. But please understand that a government is good when her people are good. And her people are good when the know the source of goodness – Almighty God. America is for a moral people, and no other.

Wow. I rambled in my notes for this podcast. I was making notes for this podcast so I would not ramble on the podcast. I have failed.

I’ll close – Colorado’s Voice is a great experiment. I’ll elaborate in the podcast. You should listen to it.

This website is a hobby project, a work on progress, and run by rank amateurs who have a passion for communication, but very little coding experience. Sometimes things won’t work. Sometimes they’ll look dumb. We’re learning and growing, even at my advanced age! Join us in our experiment. Like, comment, share, criticize, but please – engage! Be part of the conversation. Help grow our common sense!
